Oregano, a dog's ally against fungi and yeasts

Oregano, a dog's ally against fungi and yeasts

Oregano is rich in antioxidants, helps fight microbes and is a powerful antifungal. It also helps dogs with digestive problems, diarrhea and gas.

How? Thanks to inherent phenols in oregano such as carvacrol and thymol that have the ability to kill harmful bacteria and microbes.

Why are fungi or yeasts created?

When a dog's immune system decreases, fungi and yeast appear and create eczema and otitis.

How do I know if my dog has fungus or yeast?

  • Yeast can be detected by its unpleasant, harsh, musty odor on hooves or in ears.
  • Your dog scratches excessively because the yeast creates a lot of burning;
    • Biting one's hooves without stopping,
    •  Scratching his ears a lot,
    •  Drag with the tail.

Your trusted veterinarian will probably do a cytology or a culture.

How do I give oregano to my dog?

  • Add oregano leaves to your natural diet (barf diet).
  • Oregano oil: Oregano oil has antibacterial, antiviral, antiparasitic and antifungal properties. It can be administered orally or topically. Orally, administer two to three drops, three times a day. If used topically, 1 drop of oregano can be mixed with a teaspoon of coconut oil to enhance its antibiotic power.

Tip: If your dog is prone to yeast or fungus, try eliminating potatoes, wheat, corn, rice, etc. from its diet. In other words, if you give it feed, try giving it grain-free food. Also give it grain-free treats.

Why? Yeasts and fungi feed on sugar, using it as a source of energy. Carbohydrates are converted into sugar, so it is important to give your dog a carbohydrate-free diet (eliminate potatoes, wheat, corn, rice, etc.). You will see how it improves!
